How Layera Started: The Idea Behind the Studio

Every studio has a day-one story. Ours began with a cheap filament spool, a borrowed printer, and an obsession with making things that feel good to hold.

Layera didn't start with a business plan. It started with curiosity — what if the stuff on your desk could actually look good? Not just functional, but considered. Designed with intention.

The first print was a simple pen holder. It came out rough, with visible layer lines and a slightly warped base. But something about holding a physical object that didn't exist an hour ago was immediately addictive.

A few iterations later, the pen holder looked like something you'd actually want on your desk. Friends started asking where they could buy one. That's when we realised this could be something.

Layera launched as a small operation — one printer, a handful of designs, and a genuine belief that handmade 3D printed objects deserve a place in everyday life. That belief hasn't changed.
